Stephenson lifts Oklahoma State past Iowa State

Oklahoma State's unbeaten streak reached five games as Allie Stephenson's goal lifted the Cowgirls to a 1-0 Big 12 Conference victory Friday at Iowa State.

Stephenson scored in the 68th minute and OSU (8-6-2, 1-2-2) posted its fourth straight shutout after limiting the Cyclones (6-10-0, 0-6-0) to just two shots on goal.

The Cowgirls outshot ISU, 24-13, and put 11 shots on frame. Lindsey Hendon made nine saves to keep the home team in contention.

OSU hasn't conceded a goal in a little more than 382 minutes.

Allie Stephenson scored from the top of the box following a corner kick.

“She has a knack for being in the right place on those. When a corner pops out, she does a great job finishing them,” Cowgirls coach Colin Carmichael said on his school's athletics website. “She had a really nice game, so that kind of just capped it off for her.”

OSU is home Friday against No. 3 West Virginia.
