PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Cardinal's Morris honored with College Boot
Stanford junior forward Jordan Morris is the winner of the 2015 Soccer News Net Menís College Boot, recognizing the national player of the year.
Morris (Mercer Island HS/Seattle Sounders FC Academy) is the third player in Stanford history to be named Pac-12 Menís Soccer Player of the Year, and the first since 2001. Morris helped the Cardinal to back-to-back outright Pac-12 titles and earn a No. 8 seed in the 2015 NCAA Menís Soccer Championship. Despite missing Stanford matches after participating in U.S. Menís National Team games, Morris played in 18 Stanford matches, all starts. He led the team in goals (13) and game-winners (6), and led the Conference in points per game at 1.61. Morris took home first team All-Pac-12 accolades in each of his three collegiate seasons.
After leading Stanford to the NCAA championship, the native of Mercer Island, Wash, signed what has been described as "the richest Homegrown Player contract in MLS history" with Seattle Sounders FC.
